One of the oldest public municipal parks in the US, it's located in the heart of the city. There's limited roadside parking, and we had to cross the street to get to it. The water in the moat is full of algae, and the fountains are doing a good job of keeping it as clean as possible. There are benches for people to sit and take on the view. There were sparrows taking mud baths, which was very cute to watch as there's water right next to them. But there's a purpose to it. There were a few shady characters and a couple of guys who were riding their scooters inside the park very loudly. Was not sure how it was permitted in the park. Never seen a motorized vehicle in any park before.

Thanks to the workers who take the time out each winter to offer their service to each customer. Thanks to the the persons that contribute to the opening and up keep of the park so that we can have this experience to enjoy with friends and family.

Huge ground and a great place for a stroll or brisk walking or any exercise. It’s clean. It has a small pond with benches around it where you can just sit and relax. There’s a nice playground and a carousel. No place to grill. No picnic …

Love the carousel. Love the architecture of the towers and the beautiful capitol building. The playground is also very pretty and modeled after the capitol building. Good time for the kiddos.

Bring the kids and a picnic for Monday night jazz. Plenty of room to roam. America’s first funded park has big trees for shade and a free carousel for the kids. My favorite summer outdoor concerts are right here.

Wonderful place to visit. Black lives matter art work in painted on the street closest to the capitol building. There's always some attraction at this park throughout the year. Take a walk you'll enjoy the sights. It shares a beautiful view of hartford.

Beautiful park with lots of space for recreational activities. It has some enormous trees, a small pond, and direct connection to the capitol. Is nice for running and other open air activities.
